This doesn't make it 'the best' if you don't want to spend that much money. There is no debate to resolve, the most accurate flight model on any heli sim currently is Phoenix, no if buts or maybe's and Trvo was spot on in making that remark.

But at least if the pilot gets it wrong they don't loose a billion dollar jet fighter !! and nothing other than doing it for real comes close.

The thing is on a recent TV program there was a section where they were training military pilots in a multi-million pound simulator, and the guy being interviewed said that even at this level it is a good tool, and as realistic as possible, but it's still not the real thing.

I think that if you then want to progress to something at a professional level then that would require something other than the current offerings from these manufactures. They will also allow that flyer to progress to master the basic manouvers and become a competant weekend flyer. But they all do the same job - they will allow a newbe to become familiar with the controls so that when they are confident enough they can have a better chance of landing the aircraft back in one piece.

Yes there are swings and round-abouts, and there are lots of things to take into consideration such as price, trial availability, hardware included etc which all have an effect on the final cost of the package. Personally, I think that all simulators are as good as the other. Also its no good asking a model magazine to take up the challenge, as most will never support negative comments for fear of loosing advertising revenue. The issue would be to find three masters class of flyer who are not sponsored or have any connections with some of the products. You know guys, I think the only true way we will ever get this resolved would be to provide three of the leading flyers (in UK or world) with copies of XTR, AFPD, G3.5, CV and Phoenix and let them do a totally un-biased trial of how they perform, and at different skill levels.

There is potential in Clearview but there is work to do to realise that potential. Learning 3D puts your model in real jeopardy, far more than learning to hover or circuit.ДЄs Shunut has highlighted the flight parameters need explanation, once you get Clearview owners tweaking away at it themselves things might well improve as Stefan can sit back while others get his flight model into shape and the clearview community as a whole benefits.

This is why I said it is 'not suited to learning 3D' as having to relearn in the air could easily lead to a broken model rather than the satisfaction of pulling off that move you've been practicing the last 3 days in the sim. Not being able to tweak the clearview flight model to make the sim helis fly like your own adds to this. This doesn't mean you can't do advanced 3D in clearview but the process of transferring simulator skills to real life will be much slower than with another product with a more accurate flight model. The review seems to say CV isn't currently good enough for learning advanced 3DДЄctually my review says the sim 'isn't suited to learning advanced 3D', you could learn much faster with a more accurate flight model that includes instructions to tweak it to match your own model. We must remember CV is constantly evolving and gets better all the time, its also mainly a One Man Job and thats absolutely amazing and unheard of these days SVK Systems must be Highly Commended for this. I'm currently learning piro flips and CV has taught me good with this manouvour tryed it out last week after getting used to it on the sim and did them fine, also learning sides in iverted, and trying tick-tocs and rainbows but in real life they aren't good at all AS Yet. Using CV i've so far learned to do in real life, hover in all orientations with heli upright, ff, fff, fig 8's, backwards flight, loops, flips, rolls, nose & tail in iverted hovering. Well i cant yet do advanced 3D but that is my aim, and to do so using CV. The review seems to say CV isn't currently good enough for learning advanced 3D. I do agree that the heli parameters are too complicated to understand for us none techi-ppl and would love to see an explantion of these parameters one day, theres 120 different flight parameters and sometimes i look at them to have a mess but i just dont overstand what i'm doing so i give up. well one heli T-Rex SE), I dont agree with all of it but its not a bad review. The review seem ok to me, I only fly helis.
